Incorporated in 1649, Malden has a rich history dating back to the Colonial Era. Malden played a large role in the American Revolution, and was the first town to sign the petition to withdraw from the British Empire.
There are more than 30 parks located in Malden, including the Middlesex Fells Reservation and Waitt’s Mountain. Other points of interest include MacDonald Stadium, Pine Banks Park, Converse Memorial Library and the Congregation Beth Israel.
